Scope and Content

Consists of notebooks of notes on sermons held at Bethel Calvinist Methodist Chapel, Tanygrisiau and other chapels in the Ffestiniog area, 1879-1927.

Minutes of the Liberal Society - Tanygrisiau Region, 1898-1908.

Minutes of the Meetings of Governors of the Tanygrisiau Day Schools, along with details of a money collection towards the Education Battle.

Minutes and accounts of the Rhosydd Quarry Workers Assistance Society (Cymdeithas Gynhorthwyol Gweithwyr Chwarel y Rhosydd), 1884-1912. Also, details of money collected towards the Lock-Out at Dinorwic Quarry, 1885.

Administrative / Biographical History

William Edwards lived at Y Ddl, Tanygrisiau, Merioneth. His papers reveal that he was a Calvinist Methodist and a Liberal, acting as secretary of the Tanygrisiau region of the Liberal Society. It also appears that he had some connection with the Rhosydd Slate Quarry. No further biographical information was available regarding William Edwards at time of compilation of description.
