Administrative / Biographical History

Lady Windsor Lodge was a branch of the South Wales Miners' Federation.

The first meeting of the Lady Windsor Lodge was held on 5th September 1898 in the garden of the Windsor Hotel, Ynysybwl. As the Lodge did not have any official premises, the early meetings were held in hotels, schools and public houses in Ynysybwl. The venue for Lodge meetings was only fixed in 1904 when the the Lady Windsor Workmen's Institute was completed.

In 1947, Lady Windsor Lodge became a branch of the National Union of Mineworkers (South Wales Area).
