Typewritten memoir by Susan Milne, 'An Account of Eight Months in the Maudsley Hospital Suffering from Agitated Depression'. This account was originally written in 1960-1961, this version being a later copy. The account was written on the request of Dr. David Irwin of Morpeth in Northumberland.

The memoir describes Milne's experience of mental health issues and psychiatric treatment which began while she was living in Kampala in 1960. She initially was admitted to a hospital in Kakasero in Kampala, and was later sent home to Britain where she was treated at the Maudsley Hospital in London. Milne was diagnosed with 'Agitated Depression' and writes about her symptoms and the treatment she recieved. She stayed at the Maudsley for some months, before being discharged and being treated with Librium.
