This small collection predominantly contains souvenir supplements from various newspapers relating to significant royal events such as the marriage of the Duke and Duchess of York (1923) and the death of George V (1936). There are also some items relating to the Collishaw family including poems, correspondence and photographs.

Administrative / Biographical History
Edward Cowlishaw was born in Derby in 1844 to George and Elizabeth Cowlishaw. The family later changed the spelling of their surname to Collishaw and moved to Hull where Edward worked as a corn merchant for Edwin F. Wiley and Co. corn importers. He was married twice, firstly to Harriet [Barham] in 1868 and secondly, to Alice Annie Curtis in 1899. He had two daughters, Kate born 1862 and Dorothy born 1901, one from each marriage. He retired in 1930 (see U DX167/19) and died in December 1937.
