Twelve large notebooks are filled with a lively account of Margaret Littlewood's time at Ford Manor, with additions in a fair copy version accounting for the background of the school in the words of Waldemar Molnicke. The remainder of the papers are a manuscript translation of the treatise by Johann Joachim Quantz (1687-1773) on playing the flute, Versuch einer Anweisung die Floter Traversiere zu Speielen (Berlin, 1789), by Miss Marjorie Ackland of Bideford, Devon, together with a German transcription of the copy in the British Library. There are a couple of extraneous letters also in the collection.
