Scope and Content

Transcripts of various medieval texts, principally relating to Ireland, Scotland and Wales, including: (1) Cronicum Scotorum; (2) Annala Locha C [and others]; (3) Brut Ieuan Brechfa [and others]; (4) Matthew Paris, Chron. Maj.: les extraits concernant[s] le Pays de Galles; (5) Cogadh gaedhel re gallaibh [and others]; (6) [loose items] (a) genealogical table of Dalriadic kings of Scotland compiled by William Reeves and copied by Euphmie Barbier, 1895 (b) fragment by Paul Barbier on Wales. Vol. 1 begins with notes and press-cuttings on French colonial affairs; at end of vol. 4, sundry notes on class attendance. Most texts conclude with a colophon by Paul Barbier noting time and place of completion and source of the text. Various marginal notes, mostly in French.
