Report of Dr Low to the Local Government Board on an outbreak of fever at Penrhynside in the Conway Rural District, submitted by R Thorne Thorne, medical officer. Includes clinical features of the illness and speculates on possible causes, including swine fever, contaminated milk and the water supply. The insanitary circumstances at Penrhynside, partly resulting from the distribution of waste food from the resort of Llandudno over open fields, is criticised, as is the lack of hospital facilities within Conway RDC and the refusal of Llandudno UDC to admit fever cases to its sanatorium. This resulted in patients having to be nursed in their own homes under less than ideal conditions.
