Scope and Content

The collection has been divided into four broad categories, defined by type of document rather than subject matter. These are: Accounts, Correspondence, Legal and Miscellaneous. The original deposit contained 22,342 items.

Administrative / Biographical History

This collection consists of the papers of the Paget family of East Cranmore, Somerset, and covers the years 1270-1920. The papers range from legal documents concerning Somerset County Council and the properties held by the Paget family to correspondence and more personal material concerning the individuals who carried the name. There is a large amount of material pertaining to land and property in the areas of Somerset, Staffordshire and Wolverhampton. There are many papers within the archive belonging to Sir Richard Horner Paget (1832-1908).
