A parody of the University's official staff magazine, 'Prism'. The only issue held is no.1, November 1991. An editorial note on the last page indicates that 'This magazine will be published spasmodically. The next issue of Spasm will appear once the editors have dealt with the numerous law suits arriving from the first issue.'

The Public Relations Service was established in 1986 to co-ordinate existing information and publications activities and strengthen the internal and external relations of the University. It brought together the existing offices of Information, Alumni Relations and Publications. In 1994, it was replaced by the External Affairs and Development Office.
