Notebooks of Henry Cotton, containing records of events, and notes of and transcripts from books and manuscripts, in the Library; lists of 'high-priced or rare books' compiled from booksellers' catalogues and other sources; and miscellaneous bibliographical notes.

Administrative / Biographical History

Henry Cotton (1789-1879) was sub-librarian of the Bodleian Library, 1814-22. Details are given in the Dictionary of National Biography.

The notebooks were given to the Library by Henry Cotton's grand-daughter in 1946.
