Administrative / Biographical History

This private bank was formed in 1884 through the merger of two Shrewsbury private banks, Rocke, Eyton, Capmbell & Bayley (est. 1792) and Burton, Lloyd, Lloyd & Salt (est. 1812). In 1907 it was acquired by Capital & Counties Bank (est. 1877).
