Administrative / Biographical History
The Amalgamated Society of Operative Lace Makers was formed in 1874 as an amalgamation of the Curtain Lace Trade Society, the Levers Lace Trade Society and the Plain Net Trade Society. It amalgamated with the Auxiliary Society of Male Lace Workers and the Female Lace Workers Society to form the Amalgamated Society of Operative Lace Makers and Auxiliary Workers in June 1933.
