Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
The British Association for Chinese Studies was founded in 1976 during a conference held at SOAS University of London. The aim of the organisation is to encourage and promote Chinese studies in the United Kingdom.
BACS publishes the 'Journal of the British Association for Chinese Studies' and the annual 'BACS Bulletin', and holds an annual BACS Conference, as well as arranging other conferences, seminars, lectures and events. BACS also administers scholarships for study and research in Taiwan.
BACS is administered by an elected Council.
