Scope and Content

This collection comprises an artist's journal, a set of handmade CDs, and an artwork produced by Sonia Ali during her studies at the Edinburgh College of Art in 2013/14 (MA Art Space Nature).

  • Artist's research journal/book: this research journal documents the artist's thinking and making process for a series of works in collaboration with University of Edinburgh – Evolutionary Biology Dept where she has worked extensively with Algae and generally her work sits within the art/science realm.
  • "o0o" - Set of hand made CDs: this series of CDs were part of a multimedia installation (o0o is the title of the installation) presented in 2014. The sound on the each of the CDS were made in collaboration with 3 MSc Sound design students from ECA. Worked in collaboration with sound artist Cameron McNair. Data for sound work provided by Evolutionary Biology Department – University of Edinburgh Edinburgh College of Art, Edinburgh, 2014 . Sound, Chlorella algae powder, acrylic paint, glass, paper. 460cm x 560cm x 250cm.
  • Artwork "Archaeologies of the future sculptural piece": handmade cardboard box containing a dried up lemon bag on concrete.
