Scope and Content

Diaries, scrapbooks and correspondence of Max Abrams. Also manuscripts of his drumming publications, corresponding reel-to-reel tapes, and a nmber of personal photographs and films.

Administrative / Biographical History

Max Abrams was a drummer, teacher of drums and author of drum tutors. He kept detailed diaries between 1943 and 1992, which document his performance career and information about his pupils, as well as personal information. He wrote around 50 jazz tutor books
