Administrative / Biographical History
Frederick R. Martin, a well-known collector and scholar of Islamic art, acquired various portfolios of sketches, models and paper stencils from Istanbul's calligraphers and artists. Consisting of 16th to 19th century material, his collection contained about 2000 items, batches of which he donated to museums and interested individuals.
