Administrative / Biographical History
The Association of Wireless and Cable Telegraphists was renamed the Radio Officers' Union in 1938 and affiliated to the Trades Union Congress in the same year. The union changed its name to the Radio and Electronic Officers' Union in 1967 to reflect the changing duties of the radio officer.
