Papers of Charles Kirkpatrick Sharpe, consisting of:

• Correspondence and literary pieces, 1794-1844, consisting chiefly of some letters written by him, and many letters to him from intimate friends
• 371 letters and papers, chiefly adressed to Sharpe, 1793-1846, arranged in alphabetical order of writers' name

Charles Kirkpatrick Sharpe (1781-1851) was an antiquary and artist. Details are given in the Dictionary of National Biography.

The papers were partly presented by Rev. W.K.R. Bedford in 1902, and partly bought from J. Hardie Brown, bookseller of Edinburgh, in 1902.
