Custodial History

Craigton School appears to have been well established by 1873. Originally a one room school, an increase in pupil numbers led to the addition of a new classroom in 1888. A third classroom was added in 1904 when the school roll reached 92 pupils. Evacuees from the Clydebank Blitz during WWII increased the roll from 36 to 83 in 1941. The school roll decreased until in 1989 the school was closed and the remaining pupils transferred to Clober Primary School, Milngavie.
