The Saffron Past and Present oral history collection comprises 6 interviews, 1 broadcast, newspaper cuttings and written memories. The interviews in this collection were conducted with current and former residents of the Saffron Lane Estate known as 'the Saff', Leicester's first large-scale municipal housing estate. Subjects covered in the interviews include aspects of housing, leisure, local schools and shops, and the campaign for the rebuilding of the estate's concrete Boot houses in the 1990s.
