Administrative / Biographical History

The Baptist denomination is not centrally organised. Each local Baptist chapel is a separate, autonomous body, self-governed by the church meeting. Ministers of each Baptist chapel are chosen by its members, and they do not necessarily have to be ordained or have any formal theological training. There are, however, various area associations, including the Monmouthshire Baptist Association.
