Scope and Content

Emblazoned coats of arms of English kings and peers from William I to James I (inclusive), with four shields per page for peers and one shield per page for royalty. At the front of the manuscript is a alphabetical subject index, followed by some coats of arms of Guilds. Pasted to the inside front cover is an extract from a printed sale catalogue containing a description of the manuscript.

Purchased by Mrs Enriqueta Rylands, on behalf of the John Rylands Library, in 1901 from James Ludovic Lindsay, 26th Earl of Crawford.
