Stephen Jenkins of Elsenham, Essex, and William Polley of Newport, Essex, agree with the Churchwardens, Overseers, and Surveyors of the Highways of the Parish of Hinxton, that Stephen Jenkins become Master of the Workhouse at Hinxton for a term of three years. He is to provide food for the poor as set out in a bill of fare attached and medicines and clean clothing and linen. He is to pay burial fees. He may have the use of fixtures and wearing apparel. He is to pay certain legal fees when necessary. He is to find labour to keep the highways of the parish in repair. He is to have the profit of the labour and certain rents. He is to be paid certain sums annually during the term by the Churchwardens and Surveyors. A Bill of Fare of the inmates' food by the week follows. Witness: Henry Thurnall of Royston.
