Patricia Larby worked in the field of Commonwealth Studies. She edited publications relating to Africa, including 'The Southern African Materials Project' (1980), 'Maps and mapping of Africa' (1987) and 'New directions in African bibliography' (1988), and concerning nursing in Africa and Asia, including 'Leadership development and training: nursing and midwifery in Commonwealth South Asia' (1995) and 'Moving nursing forward' (1999).
