Scope and Content

Whereas by Indenture dated 25 July 1774 Joseph Harrington at the request of Thomas Butcher sold to Robert Butcher of Middle Scotland Yard certain land in Greenfield for the term of one thousand years subject to redemption; and whereas the fee simple of the land is now vested in Daniel Beaumont in trust for Francis, Duke of Bedford; and whereas Francis, Duke of Bedford, by Indentures of Lease and Release dated the previous day and the same date has conveyed the lands to Edmond Williamson of Old Warden, Bedfordshire, to the use of him and his heirs for ever; and whereas it was agreed that the remainder of the term should be assigned to a trustee in trust for Edmond Williamson and his heirs; Daniel Beaumont at the request of Francis, Duke of Bedford, and at the nomination of Edmond Williamson assigns to Sir George Osborne, Bt, the lands in question for the remainder of the term in trust for Edmond Williamson and his heirs. Witnesses for Daniel Beaumont: John Berry, W. Paris Sweeting, Meard Street, Soho; for the Duke of Bedford: John Berry, Attorney, Meard Street, Soho, John Gotobed, Norfolk Street, Strand; for Edmond Williamson: the same; for Sir George Osborne: Robert Harry Inglis, Milton Bryan Bedfordshire, George John Archdall London. Four seals are attached.
