Administrative / Biographical History

The Lloyd family of Tynewydd, Llannor, held land in a number of parishes in Caernarfonshire during the 17th and 18th centuries. The family included John Lloyd (fl. 1661-1669), his son Owen Lloyd (fl. 1656-1698). During the 18th century Owen Lloyd (fl. 1700-1734) lived at Tan y Bryn, Llanllyfni, Caernarfonshire, with his wife, Mary. They had two sons, Richard (fl. 1734-1771) and Henry (fl. 1734-1735). Richard Lloyd held lands in the parishes of Llannor, Llanllyfni, Deneio, Clynnog-fawr and Llanbeblig, Caernarfonshire.
