Titbits was a British weekly magazine founded by George Newnes on 22 October 1881. The magazine was a commercial publication on cheap newsprint that made sales of 400,000 - 600,000. It ran a diverse range of bits of information in an easy-to-read format with the emphasis on human interest stories. The first humorous article by P. G. Wodehouse was "Men who Missed their own weddings" in November 1900. Pin-ups appeared on the cover from 1939. In July 1984 the circulation was only 170,000 copies and was taken over by Associated Newspapers' Weekend which closed in 1989.
