Scope and Content

Statement of case in a dispute between Robert Mason and others the doctors of doctors' commons, plaintiffs, and the Master, Fellows and Scholars of Trinity Hall, Cambridge, outlining the terms of leases dated 1555 and 1567 by which the College holds a messuage from the Dean and Chapter of St Paul's Cathedral. Paper ends: 'The doctors of doctors' commons have taken leases of the colledge at fines and rents theis 100 yeares, and never till of late que[st]ioned the same, and most of the doctors doe still take leases on fines and rents. The only question is whether the lease of the deane and chapter be a trust for the doctors.'
