Comprises: (1) Photostatic facsimiles of manuscripts A and B of Meier Helmbrecht, 5 vols; (2) Manuscript drafts of the edited text and notes, 5 vols; (3) Manuscript of the final revision of the work, finished 2 December 1950, 1 vol.; (4) Notes on the text and metre of the poem, dated 23 November 1950, 1 vol.; (5) Interleaved copy of his edition, dated 1942, heavily annotated, 1 vol.; (6) Bound notebook containing manuscript "Studies on Meier Helmbrecht" by Gough, 1 vol.; (7) Bound notebook containing offprints of Gough's articles on "Texts A and B of ... Meier Helmbrecht", published in the Proceedings of the Leeds Philosophical and Literary Society, [ca. 1926-1932], 1 vol.; (8) Bound notebook containing "Miscellaneous papers", by Gough on various subjects relating to German literature, and including a few letters and newspaper cuttings relating to him, 1 vol.; (9) Correspondence by Professor A. Gillies of the German Department relating to Gough's donation of most of this material to the Department in May 1956
