The Paper Machine Wire Manufacturers' Association was formed on 7 February 1899 for the "consideration of conditions affecting generally the business of the manufacture of Paper Machine Wires and of questions arising out of the requirements of the Papers Makers, due to altered methods of manufacture, increase in widths of Paper Making Machines, etc, and to form in effect a consultative committee in the mutual interests of the Members". The association was dissolved on 16 November 1956 .
