Collection of photographs taken by Arthur Norris (1879-1959), who trained as a locomotive engineer and went to South America to work on the contstruction of the railways in Chile, Bolivia and Peru.
The photographs have been organised by country or city, but a large number were taken in unidentified locations. There are also a number of photographs taken during a football (soccer) match played at the highest point at which the railroad was built on the Andes.
Each photograph has been annotated on the back with the location, date and a description of the event captured in the photograph.
