This oral history collection comprises 14 interviews with people associated with the hosiery trade in the East Midlands. It mainly focuses on the history of framework knitting in Nottinghamshire, the companies involved with hosiery machinery in Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire, and the decline of the hosiery industry.

Administrative / Biographical History
The collection was deposited with EMOHA in 2019 by the Ruddington Framework Knitters Museum. A number of the interviews which look at hosiery machinery appear to have been conducted by Tony Nutting as part of his MPhil dissertation research in the early 1990s.
