Scope and Content

Juliana Semor, elder daughter of Peter de Greyne, confirms her gift to Geoffrey de Caldecote and to Geoffrey's wife Margaret, of two bovates of land in Grydene [Graden, Roxburghshire?], which she holds by the feoffment of her said father, and which were formerly held of him by Adam son of James. Together with toft and croft in the same place, lying between land of Walter of Greydene and land formerly in the occupation of Eda, daughter of the late Thomas de Greydene. To be held by Geoffrey and Margaret, their heirs or assigns. Witnessed by Master Walter de Borndone, then seneschal of the county ('comitatus') of 'Dumbar' [Roxburghshire?], Nicholas de Rutherford, knights, Walter de Greydene, Robert ?Ti'mok', Herbert de Greydene, Adam Lamb' de Sempringe, John his son, and others. Tag and seal wanting. Endorsement of identification in a slightly later hand.
