The volume contains signed meeting minutes of the Bachelors. The minutes deal exclusively with the arrangement of the Bachelors Ball. The volume is accompanied by a menu card for the 1909 ball, copies of annotated letters inviting members to attend meetings, and lists of people invited to the balls. The volume has an index at the back containing the names of 'ladies' and 'gentlemen' invited to the balls.

Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
Nothing is known about the Bachelors other than that they were a committee of Nottingham dignitaries who arranged prestigious balls (parties). It is likely that the balls were organised in aid of charity. The minute book in this collection refers to the arrangement of Bachelors balls in 1905, 1909, and 1912. It records that plans to organise a ball in 1928 were abandoned. The president for every ball was Lt Col Richard Leslie Birkin.
Arrangement
The volume is arranged chronologically.
