Ledger relating to Bullocks and Bradwells' business interests, 1864-1897.

Administrative / Biographical History

Bullocks and Bradwells were silk merchants, from Congleton, Cheshire. They also had an interest in the running of the Hendre-ddu and Minllyn slate quarries, Caernarfonshire. Hendre-ddu Slate & Slab Quarry, Dinas Mawddwy, was opened c. 1870, and remained active until the 1930s. Minllyn Slate Quarries, in Aberangell, was established before 1840, producing mainly slab. It closed in 1925.
