Whereas the Commissioners on hearing from the inhabitants of Swavesey, Petitioners, and from the Company of Conservators of the Great Level, Respondents, concluded that certain lands in the parish were in a worse condition than before a previous attempt to drain the Fens; they allot sums of money in compensation to the inhabitants and various pieces of land to the same. Lists of the names of those so compensated follow. The land allotted was in the following: Littleport, Mepal, Willingham, Haddenham, Cottenham, Witchford, Coveney, Sutton, Fordham, Ely, Wicken Fen, Stretham, Thetford, Fidwell Fen, Rampton, Byall Fen, Whelp Moor, Shippea, Stuntney, Witcham, Wilburton, Somersham. Subscribed by the Commissioners: Francis North, Francis Kirkham, Christopher Thurseby, Sutton Ashfeild, Richard Nailer, Thomas Storye, John Ferrers, Maurice Tresham. Eight seals are attached.
