Study Number 4127: Decline of Infant Mortality in England and Wales, 1871-1948: A Medical Conundrum - Vaccination Registers, 1871-1913: The data consist of transcriptions from a sample of English vaccination registers, at the sub-registration district level, for selected years within the period 1871-1913. The variables differ slightly due to local custom and the transcribing methods employed but broadly, for each district, they consist of number in birth register; date of birth; address; gender; legitimacy; parents' occupation; date of vaccination; date of exception; date of death.

Study Number 4354: Non-Industrial Civil Service Staff Statistics, British Isles, 1933-1999: The data include a non-industrial Civil Service headcount by responsibility level and region (1997) and time series for 1975-1996 for UK by region and department; a time series of Northern Ireland non-industrial Civil Service staff by department and by grade 1939-1996; a time series of Isle of Man Civil Service staff 1970-1999; and an analysis of Guernsey and Jersey statistics.

Study Number 4423: Burial Registers for Kingston upon Thames Parishes, 1850-1901 and Bonner Hill Cemetery, 1855-1911: Analysis of the data is providing a wealth of information on such questions as occupational structures; class profiles; household structures; demographic trends etc., and indicating how these changed over time. For example, this burial database has provided a great deal of material on mortality in Kingston between 1850 and 1911, including the age profile of mortality (in particular highlighting the high and increasing incidence of infant mortality), and the seasonality of mortality. By linking these data to other sources such as the census enumerators' books, maps and Medical Officer of Health reports, we can examine the influence of such factors as location, housing conditions, father's occupation (in the case of infants) etc. on mortality.

Study Number 4491: Parish Register Aggregate Analyses, 1662-1811 - 404 Data: The data comprise aggregated monthly totals of baptisms, marriages and burials for 404 English parishes from the sixteenth to the nineteenth century.

Study number 4094 to 4096 and 4101 to 4105: Digest of Welsh Historical Statistics. This machine-readable version of John Williams' Digest of Welsh Historical Statistics is the result of a collaboration between the Statistical Directorate of the National Assembly for Wales, the History Data Service and the Centre for Data Digitisation and Analysis at Queen's University Belfast.John Williams' Digest of Welsh Historical Statistics is intended to provide a service for those working on the history of modern Wales. It arises from a belief that the quantitative element is a necessary and important part of the historical record; from an awareness that it was an aspect that was particularly inaccessible for scholars of Welsh history; and from a conviction that some encouragement in the use of quantitative material was necessary. It is modelled on the two volumes dedicated to British historical statistics: Mitchell, B.R. and Deane, P. (1962) Abstract of British historical statistics and Mitchell, B.R. and Jones, H.G. (1971) Second abstract of British historical statistics. These studies are part of a series containing 13 studies.
