A Collection of Illustrations of Nottingham, 16th-19th century

The collection consists of 21 black and white, and 23 coloured illustrations of Nottingham, dating from the 16th to the 19th centuries. Many cannot be dated precisely. The majority are photographs of known prints and engravings. The coloured series features some photographs which appear to have been hand coloured. Both sets have been mounted behind glass.

The collection of illustrations was gathered together by C.P. Stubbs of Woodthorpe, Nottingham, from unidentified originals. A number of the prints appear in the 20 volume series 'Victorian Nottingham' by R. Iliffe and W. Baguley (1970-83).

The illustrations have been divided into two sections; black and white, and coloured.
