Scope and Content

The collection forms part of the much larger archive of the Engineering Employers' Federation (MSS.237), its creating body essentially having been a predecessor organisation to the EEF.

Administrative / Biographical History

Founded in 1908 at a Provisional Committee meeting which met for that purpose on 14 May 1908. The Federation was dissolved in November 1919, most of its members having joined the Engineering and Allied Employers' National Federation.

Acquisition Information

The records of the Gas Meter Making Employers' Federation were deposited with the Centre by the Engineering Employers' Federation in 1982.
