The Creative Works section contains documentation related to specific productions by The Women's Playhouse Trust (WPT) and The Wapping Project. It has been divided into 3 sub-collections:
1. Promotional Materials
2. Pre-Wapping Creative Works Admin, and
3. The Wapping Project Creative Works Admin
Promotional Materials (flyers, photographs, programmes, posters) have been kept separate to reflect the original order of the donated collection. 2. Pre-Wapping Creative Works Admin, and 3. The Wapping Project Creative Works Admin contain all other documentation in the collection which relate to specific productions. They have been divided to reflect the distinct shift in genre and organisational logistics over time. However, the demarcation between the two is not cleanly chronological during the period of major transition 1993-1998.
The WPT produced 10 theatrical plays between 1984-1994, 2 sung pieces in 1994 and 1997, and more than 60 workshops and rehearsed readings at venues across London, while their first production using the former Wapping Hydraulic Power Station as a venue was "Cityworks 1: Dirt" in 1993. There were 4 official Cityworks (or "Life in the City") productions between 1993-1995, 2 performed at Wapping, 2 elsewhere. For consistency, all Cityworks documentation have been classifed as "Wapping", as have all other live art events, performances, exhibitions and installations produced by the WPT after 1998.
