Administrative / Biographical History

The 'Houghton', an East Indiaman, sailed from Deptford in December 1786 to the Cape, Madras (June 1787), Penang and China before returning home via St Helena. The voyage ended in July 1788. The 'Houghton' was commanded by James Monro, with John Edwards as 6th Mate.
