Administrative / Biographical History

Edward Jones, electrical engineer, attended Cardiff Higher Grade School, Roath, Glamorgan, in the early 1900s. He served in the Merchant Navy, 1908-1910, before taking employment as a colliery electrician. For most of his career, he was employed as an electrician with the City of Cardiff Electric Light Department, and later the South Wales Area Electricity Board (SWAEB). In 1947, he was appointed to the post of deputy chairman of SWAEB.
