Administrative / Biographical History
Jenny Duffy (nee Browning) was born in June 1946, the daughter of George and Joan Browning. She was educated at The Edgbaston Church of England College for Girls in Birmingham. Her father was vicar of St George's parish, Edgbaston, had been an army chaplain during the Second World War and was awarded the OBE.
In 1963 Jenny was accepted for Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) in what was the early years of the VSO scheme. She was station at Simla, north India, and worked with Tibetan refugee children in a Save the Children nursery.
