This collection comprises 181 recordings, mainly oral history interviews, made by Market Harborough Museum. The majority of recordings were made between 1984 and 1987. There are a number of recordings from the 'In Service' project on the theme of domestic service, providing an extensive insight into the below stairs world at such places as Thornby Hall and Kensington Palace. There are also interviews from the 'Hidden Harborough' project, which covers details about life in Market Harborough and recollections of the Quakers Yard, Kings Head Place and work in the Co-op before 1940.
