Scope and Content

1 folder, entitled 'Victorian Medallion Square No. 2650' plus many loose items. These have been grouped together and catalogued as if they were in their own distinct folder titled 'Miscellaneous - Loose Items'. The Victorian medallion square folder contained multiple small fragments of one design, parts of which can be arranged together to form a large scale sketch of Design No.2650. The folder also contained some design sketches that may have been removed from a catalogue or other similar publications. The majority of the loose items are design patterns rather than sketches. Some consist of several seperate pieces of paper, and therefore have been catalogued as single items with multiple parts. Where items are folded and stapled or clipped together the size recorded is that when folded. Some have been given a design number, while a few also note contract details, and more often than not they are dated. The designs were stored in a drawer labelled 'BMK Kilmarnock A800-A899', but as this was scored out it is unclear if this is relevant.

This description is part of the Design Archive  which is divided into the 142 sections, each with its own separate description.
