Nabokov to various Russian correspondents (54, 1932-1939); (2) Photocopies of Simon Karlinsky's review of V.V. Nabokov and Andrew Field books in The Washington Post (14 December 1986) and ensuing correspondence between Andrew Field, Z.A. Shakhovskaia and The Washington Post (1987); (3) Photocopies of extracts from letters commenting on Z.A. Shakhovskaia's, V poiskakh Nabokova, Paris, 1979, by various Russian correspondents, together with a copy of the book

Vladimir Nabokov (1899-1977), the Russian-American author, and Zinaida Alekseevna Shakhovskaia (1908-2001), a writer and member of the post-revolutionary Russian migr community in Belgium and France, corresponded in the 1930s and Shakhovskaia wrote the book V poiskakh Nabokova about their friendship
