Administrative / Biographical History
The accounts relate to a farm occupied by the donor's family from the early 18th century to the early 20th century. The compiler of the accounts, Christopher Turnill, was born at Wittering, co. Northampton 1781, married in 1825 and died in 1875. Farm size is unknown but probably more than 350 acres; light soil; tenant farmers to Lord Exeter
