Scope and Content

Minutes of the inaugural meeting, the provisional committee, the executive committee, the annual general meeting, the housing sub-committee, a meeting of officers, the League of Service report of Sussex tour, a general committee meeting, the executive committee annual report and the finance committee. All these committees show the work of the party in trying to attract new members, to get a Labour candidate to stand in the constituency and increase Labour representation on local bodies.

Administrative / Biographical History

The divisional Labour Party for the East Grinstead constituency was formed in 1918. It was made up from delegates of Trades Unions and Co-operative societies and was pledged to support the candidatures of 'Labour representatives at Parliamentary and local elections'.
