Scope and Content

This oral history collection comprises 23 interviews with residents of Leicestershire conducted between 9 January and 24 February 2013 by Andrew Scattergood. They focus on the lives on people living in Leicestershire and the ‘heroes’ who have inspired them.

Administrative / Biographical History

Sound recordings were used by Andrew Scattergood to create songs which were written into the play 'Father Used to Say'. The show toured community centres where story gathering sessions took place, finishing with three performances at Embrace Arts.
