Administrative / Biographical History

The firm of H Morris & Co Ltd was established in around 1885  . By the early 1920s  it had acquired premises at Milton Street, Glasgow. The firm manufactured furniture and, in the early days, cinema seats. It was also responsible for fitting out the luxury liners, the Queen Mary, Queen Elizabeth and Queen Elizabeth II. By the 1990s  the firm had become known as Morris Furniture Co Ltd .
